Life has given me many unexpected adventures as I have moved out of state 10 times in 30 years! I am from Southern Illinois, but have lived in North and East Texas for a total of 10 years! I graduated with a BS in Art Education and a minor in music from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky, where I met and married my husband, whom I met my freshman year.  I followed my husband's career across the country, and embraced change! I worked as an interior designer in Southeast Missouri for 3 years until we relocated to Jacksonville, Florida. There I got to realize my dream of attending graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design, (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. I commuted weekly to Georgia to complete my Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Painting. Upon graduating from SCAD, I returned to teaching art to all ages in multiple states as my husband’s job relocated us from Florida to Tennessee, East Texas, Northern California, North Texas, St. Louis, MO, and then back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area again. During these relocations, I focused on settling my family and I always found my way back to teaching and creating art. Now, my husband and I are celebrating 26 years of marriage and have two beautiful children who are now in high school.  My son and daughter are the center of my world, but are more independent now and I find myself with more time to create. 

My artwork is realistic and often of landscapes and the animal wildlife that I see around me. I am excited to share that four pieces of mine were recently selected for the “Nature and Fibers 2026 Exhibition" at the Frisco Discovery Center in the Grand Gallery, on display from April 8th-June 27, Frisco, Texas. I am also a member of the Society of Watercolor Artists (SWA) in Fort Worth. 

I have taught pre-k through high schoolers, college students and adults. I love to teach the elements of art and design in fun ways. Lessons may include color theory, compositional design elements, drawing, and art history. Additionally, we will pursue some seasonal and holiday themes.  I am thrilled to teach a variety of art and craft classes at New Classical Art School and share my passion and fascination of creating something new with you!
